ABOUT THE THEME, "Rise Up, Speak Out": In this time when many people, like people of color, LGBTQ people, Muslims, and immigrants are facing heightened abuse, simply sharing our stories can be a form of protest. Whether it is through art or oral storytelling, rising up and speaking out about what we have been through in our lives can be a powerful statement to let oppressors know: "We are here, and we won't take this."
The Coalition to Prevent AlcoholÂ-Related Harms in LA Metro (CoPALM) was launched by a group of concerned community leaders and stakeholders, with the support of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, to address alcohol’s impact on communities and to build community resilience alongside residents.
